LIEN REPORT

This report provides you with the current registered owner, previous owner, unrecorded and/or outstanding liens and any other notations in FAA records (de-registrations due to accidents, conveyance information, etc.). This is the one report you absolutely must have to be certain that the aircraft/engine you're buying will remain in your posession!

Please note that Lien Reports do NOT
provide historical information or 337 copies
.

U.S. CHAIN OF TITLE REPORT

From the day it rolled out of the factory door, someone owned this plane. This report will give you insight into the complete ownership history of the aircraft on file with the FAA. Who owned it, where they lived and when they sold it to the next owner. [Find out if it was really a "dry states" aircraft!]

You'll receive the names of all owners of the aircraft from the first day of registration to the present, including address, type of transaction, dates and conveyance information.

Please note that a Chain of Title report does NOT include lien information, 337's, nor information on foreign ownership.

INTERNATIONAL REGISTRY SEARCHES
The "Capetown Convention"

If your aircraft is type certificated to transport at least eight persons (including crew) or goods in excess of 6,063 pounds, or a helicopter certificated to transport at least five persons or goods in excess of 992 pounds, or has a turbine or piston engine(s) producing 550 or more rated takeoff horsepower or 1,750+ lbs thrust, you need to consider an International Aircraft Registry search. The International Registry came into effect in March, 2006, and is an additional layer of financial interest protection. It does not take the place of FAA registration.

There is an informative article on the Registry and regulations here.
